As a millennial mother of five, I had my share of baby pain, fever, discomfort, and battle zone when it came to giving them the medicine or wellness products that would help. Although these products are readily available, new parents do not necessarily know them. Our pediatrician was surprised when I mentioned how helpful the BABY-VAC was in the congestion battle with my baby and thanked me for making her aware of such an innovation.
Here are the top 10 best baby wellness products based on my experience and their Amazon customer reviews:
1. Little Remedies Infant Fever & Pain Reliever with Acetaminophen:

Acetaminophen, a.k.a Tylenol, is probably all we are allowed to use in the first few months of the baby’s life as it is the safest. Ibuprofen was not allowed until six months during my days with a baby, but doctors’ recommendations might change.
2. Infant’s MOTRIN Dye-Free Concentrated Drops, ½ fl oz:

As mentioned, Ibuprofen, a.k.a Motrin, is not recommended until six months. My rule of thumb is never to give it on an empty stomach and give it right before bed because its effect is longer compared to Acetaminophen.
3. Rite Aid Children’s Pain Relief Acetaminophen:

If I seem to be getting nowhere with my kids regarding the syrup form, my next step is to go to the chewable route. I considered all my little ones’ babies up to the age they were able to take in chewable, but that is obviously not for all families. If the concentration of the medication is similar in syrup as it is in chewable, my baby is old enough for a chewable or even a smashed-down chewable in a drink, and after consulting the pediatrician; I took the chewable route, and it has been such a lifesaver for many years. It helps that it is available in many favors.
4. Amazon Basic Care Children’s Ibuprophen Chewable Tablets, 100 mg, Pain Reliever, and Fever Reducer, 24 Count:

Like chewable Acetaminophen, chewable Ibuprophen has been an ideal route for many years. My children prefer the orange flavor; the effect lasts up to 8 hours.
5. FeverAll Infants Acetaminophen Suppositories 80mg each (Pack of 3):

Last but not least, for pain and fever, when syrup and chewable routes fail, I resort to my final (unpleasant) solution of a suppository. It helps to dip it in Vaseline and try to insert it during a diaper change or when they are asleep.
6. Boiron Camilia, Doses, Homeopathic Medicine for Teething Relief Natural – 30 Count:

Although Acetaminophen and Ibuprophen can occasionally help ease the pain our babies go through during their teething months, the pain will happen more often than we would like to use drug solutions. Camilia has been praised by many parents and has multiple positive reviews regarding a natural solution to help the gum-ripping phenomena our poor babies have to endure for a (very long) few months.
7. Little Remedies Saline Spray and Drops, Safe for Newborns, 0.5 fl oz, 3 Pack:

Baby Saline is a must-product for the first few years of the baby’s life. Their little noses experience congestion for various reasons, which has been a very helpful solution. Even if there are dry and big boggers to fight, I would always start with squirting a few drops of saline and then waiting a few minutes before using a bulb syringe to suck out what is causing my baby ultimate discomfort. It always felt like a great accomplishment!!
8. BABY-VAC Baby Nasal Aspirator Safe Hygienic Quick Best Results for Newborns and Toddlers:

During COVID season, my youngest seemed to be picking up so many germs from her older siblings. She seemed congested 24/7, and we had to find an advanced solution to help ease her discomfort. The Baby -Vac was the product we were missing all our lives. It sucked out all the boggers in seconds. Before using it on the baby, my husband tested it on himself just for peace of mind. It is obviously baby safe and has multiple positive reviews on Amazon; I wish I had known about it sooner because congestion seems to be a chronic problem in babies, and watching them suffer is utterly painful for the parent’s heart.
9. Rash Cream with 40% Zinc Oxide for Treatment, Relief & Prevention, Hypoallergenic, Phthalate- & Paraben-Free Paste, 4.8 oz:

Besides Vaseline serving as a protective layer to my babies’ private parts, Desitin was my next solution to any diaper rash my babies had. My husband liked to be generous with it, although a small quantity would serve the purpose. I highly recommend washing the baby’s bottom with warm water and baby wash, drying it gently, then putting Desitin and a diaper when the rash is severe. Wipes (even unscented ones) are quite harsh when the baby is already suffering from a rash.
10. Electric Baby Nail Trimmer:

The innovation of electric baby filers was a game changer in parenthood. It always felt like I was performing surgery every time I tried to take care of my baby’s nails. This is important to their wellness because they tend to direct their hands to their faces during the first few years of their life. Although mittens are a temporary solution, you will have to air out the hands once in a while, so the nails must be taken care of before major damage happens to the baby’s face.
Those are the top 10 best baby wellness products that should be in every parent’s household. I had my first baby in 2013 and my youngest in 2020; this list did not change during that decade.
